Caregiver Reports to :House Manager/Administrator Schedule:
PRN Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily living activities including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility as indicated and necessary,
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents,
- Observing and communicating changes in resident health and wellness condition or behavior to the Administrator or House Manager as indicated which may include obtaining and documenting resident vital signs,
- Assisting residents with safe medication administration as directed by Colorado Regulations, our policies and procedures, and practitioner's order as well as obtaining and documenting resident vital signs,
- Assist residents in transferring, re-positioning and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment and facilitating exercise programs that develop and maintain strength, coordination and range of motion in accordance with resident care plans,
- Assisting House Manager in arranging, and may accompany residents to, medical and other appointments with external providers,
- Assisting residents and other staff members in the implementation of resident care plans and other programs designed to address resident health and wellness,
- Documenting outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity and dietary intake ensuring resident health records and reports are maintained accurately and timely,
- Assisting with and encouraging residents to participate in social and recreational activities at the residence and assisting with or coordinating, and may accompany residents to, off-site engagement opportunities,
- Actively participating in Quality Management projects related to resident care services, health and wellness programs, quality assurance, safety and risk management, infection control and other programs at the residence,
- Working with the Administrator, House Manager, residents and their families to assure that resident concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately,
- Maintaining the confidentiality of residents, staff and our residence's information,
- May attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and training based on shift schedule,
- May prepare resident meals and provide dining assistance,
- Assist in light housekeeping and laundry to maintain a clean environment,
- Performing other duties as assigned

Education / training:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Colorado Medical Administration/QMAP certified.
- Certification in CPR and basic first aid.
Preferred:
Certified Nurse Aide (Colorado) in good standing. Previous training and/or experience in assisted living. Knowledge, skills and abilities:- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to meeting resident needs,
- Attention to detail, well-organized and effective time management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a Christian-based care team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Consistent initiative and good judgement
- Must align with and support the Christian mission of Owen-Larson HOPE Homes.
Physical Requirements :
This position requires standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and moderate lifting and carrying activities throughout the day. Must have good vision, good hearing, and verbal communication skills in order to communicate with residents, family members, employees and professionals.
