Job Description
Live-in Caregiver A Live In Caregiver is sought to help an 86-yo lady in her home with cooking, cleaning, shopping and laundry. The position may also involve some travel to accompany her to Portand Oregon and to Portugal, where her daughter is sometimes based. The lady can manage her own personal matters -- getting herself out of bed, dressing, getting to the toilet and showering. She has suffered some cogntive decline, we are not looking for "memory care." However, she is no longer able to ambulate well enough to do all her own cooking, cleaning, laundry or driving around for shopping and socializing. So, this would be the work needed. The home is in a very quiet, pleasant rural location near Hotchkiss, CO a quarter-mile off Highway 92. Obviously, a drivers license is necessary. The caregiver would have a self contained, separate 1 bedroom apartment. In return for 24-hour coverage( for emergencies only) the apartment will be rent free and include utilities. There is availiblity for relief from 24 hour coverage that can be arranged occasionally. A cellphone call or some other method of calling for help in the case of an emergency -- a fall, for instance -- will be set up. No work would be expected after work hours, outside of an emergency. The actual daytime work would probably require 4 to 6 hours a day. A stable, sane, pleasant, mature, caring person only would be the successful candidate.
