DDS IHS Support Staff - Autism Experience Required Butler Rescue Hands, Inc.

$22.50 per hour + mileage reimbursementSchedule:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 9:00 AM-1:00PM Hours:
Approximately 12 hours per weekPosition:
Part-Time / Per Diem Butler Rescue Hands, Inc. is seeking a dependable, patient, and experienced Individual Home Supports (IHS) staff member to support a female individual receiving Connecticut DDS services in Norwalk, CT. We are looking for someone with strong experience supporting individuals with autism, behavioral needs, redirection, and community integration. This is not a traditional home-care assignment. The focus is on promoting independence, skill development, appropriate community participation, and person-centered support. Responsibilities Provide Individual Home Supports (IHS) according to the individual's DDS service plan Assist with developing and maintaining daily living and independence skills Provide appropriate prompting, cueing, redirection, and behavioral support Utilize calm and effective de-escalation techniques when needed Encourage communication, choice, independence, and community participation Transport the individual to community outings, activities, and other approved destinations Maintain appropriate professional boundaries Follow established routines, behavioral strategies, and safety guidelines Complete all required service documentation and progress notes accurately and on time Communicate concerns or changes appropriately with Butler Rescue Hands management Required Qualifications Previous experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder Strong background in redirection, behavioral support, and de-escalation Experience working with individuals receiving Connecticut DDS services strongly preferred Current CPR/First Aid certification Required DDS credentials and training , including applicable DDS Orientation and Autism training Ability to successfully complete all required DDS and agency background checks Valid driver's license Reliable and insured personal vehicle required Must be comfortable transporting the individual for community-based activities Dependable attendance and ability to consistently work the assigned schedule Patient, professional, compassionate, and able to maintain appropriate boundaries Compensation $22.50 per hour Mileage reimbursement is provided for approved mileage while transporting the individual for authorized community outings and activities. Schedule Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9:00 AM-1:00 PM Approximately 12 hours per week Applicants must be able to reliably commit to the assigned days and hours. About Butler Rescue Hands, Inc.
