Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Live-In Caregiver (Personal Care Assistant) serving residents in Waterbury, Watertown, Cheshire, Naugatuck, and surrounding areas. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with diverse needs, promoting independence and enhancing quality of life. As a live-in caregiver, you will live on-site and deliver continuous support, ensuring safety, comfort, and well-being for your clients. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working in a supportive and dynamic environment. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition Administer medications accurately according to care plans while maintaining HIPAA compliance and confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing specialized memory care techniques and engaging them in meaningful activities Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely to prevent injury Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, including patient observations, medication logs, and incident reports Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning living areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and follow personalized care plans Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive living environment Qualifications Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care are a plus Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs is advantageous Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting changes in condition Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and families effectively Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life Knowledge of safety protocols including proper use of Hoyer lifts and resident handling techniques Join us in providing exceptional care that empowers individuals to live comfortably and confidently.
