Job Description

Our Autism Center is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Care Staff to support adult participants (ages 22 and older) diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This position plays an important role in assisting participants with daily activities, life skills development, personal care needs, and community-based learning opportunities while helping to create a safe, positive, and engaging environment.

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:45
PM Pay Rate:
$16 per hour
Benefits:
This position does not include benefits or paid time off.
Compensation:
$16 hourly
Responsibilities:
Assist with the implementation of daily educational, therapeutic, and life-skills activities under the direction of the Program Director and Lead Teacher. Prepare and maintain a safe, organized, and engaging environment, including activity areas, learning materials, and general housekeeping tasks. Supervise adult participants at all times to ensure their safety, well-being, and active participation in program activities. Observe participant behavior and progress, and communicate concerns, incidents, or achievements to the Lead Teacher and Program Director. Provide support with personal care needs, including hygiene, toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, and the development of independent living skills. Maintain professionalism and comply with all Center policies, procedures, training requirements, and staff meeting expectations. Attend community-based instruction excursions with adult participants throughout the community to assist them with learning social skills and life skills.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma is required; an associate's degree preferred; bachelor's degree is a plus. For all positions, prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, and/or Applied Behavior Analysis is preferred. Local background check and background screening required through APD; fingerprint fee is $77, paid by applicant. Fluent English is required.
