Largo, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract $16.00 - $16.50 an hour 16 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Patient monitoring Patient interaction Bathing assistance Meal assistance Full Job Description Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to serve as Companion / Personal Support providers, in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties. This vital role involves offering personalized assistance and companionship to individuals with diverse needs, promoting their independence, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those they support, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism. This position is an excellent opportunity for those interested in healthcare, social work, or caregiving fields, with comprehensive training provided to ensure success. Responsibilities Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or age-related conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Personal Support may Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, when necessary. Personal Support may Support individuals with medication reminders and monitoring vital signs in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences while ensuring proper food safety and sanitation standards. Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment to promote overall health and comfort. Observe and document changes in residents' health status or behavior, communicating findings to healthcare professionals or family members as appropriate. Assist with community outings or social activities to foster engagement and enhance quality of life. Skills Prior experience working in with individuals with special needs; group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and care plan implementation. Strong skills in caregiving tasks including assisting with ADLs, manual handling, and meal preparation. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or other neurodevelopmental conditions. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines while managing sensitive information. Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to client care; CPR and first aid certification are preferred but not mandatory.
