Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care and daily living support. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for residents, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of those under your care, whether in a home setting, assisted living facility, or nursing home environment. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status. Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and social engagement. Support residents with memory care needs related to Alzheimer's disease and dementia through specialized techniques. Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids safely and effectively. Maintain cleanliness of resident living areas by performing light housekeeping tasks and ensuring hygiene standards are met. Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems while adhering to privacy regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and team members to develop personalized care plans. Drive residents when necessary for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety at all times. Qualifications Prior experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes, retirement homes, or personal care homes is highly desirable. Knowledge of assisted living practices, home & community care, and group home environments. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in dementia or Alzheimer's care is preferred. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting with Hoyer lifts or assisting with mobility needs safely. Valid driver's license preferred for transportation duties; clean driving record is advantageous.
