GED First Aid Certification Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals in an APD (Agency for Persons with Disabilities) Behavior Focused Group Home. In this role, you will provide direct care and behavioral support to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them live safely, independently, and with dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily care and supervision to residents in a group home setting Implement behavior plans and support strategies as outlined by care teams Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation Monitor and document behaviors, progress, and any incidents accurately and timely Ensure a safe, clean, and structured environment Transport residents to appointments, day programs, and community activities as needed Communicate effectively with supervisors, healthcare professionals, and team members
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Experience working with individuals with developmental or behavioral needs preferred Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations Strong communication and documentation skills Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass background screening
Preferred Skills:
PCM (Preventative Crisis Management) Behavior Assistant Certification Experience with behavior-focused care plans CPR/First Aid certification Med Certification APD Train.org
