In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance to promote independence, dignity, and well-being for residents in assisted living, nursing homes, group homes, or home care settings. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a safe, comfortable environment for those in your care. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact every day. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs and preferences. Support medication administration following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality. Maintain cleanliness of residents' living areas and common spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices. Document care activities, update care plans, and record observations related to patient behavior or health status. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, especially those with dementia or memory impairments like Alzheimer's disease or autism spectrum disorder. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with patient transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status promptly. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and supporting residents' social needs.
