Job Description
- Will follow written plan of care that is implemented for resident
- Will perform health maintenance activities for residents, provided that resident or responsible party has signed a written consent form
- Provide assistance with medication (must have physician order) in a timely manner (no more than one hours prior to directed time or one hour later, with exception of insulin)
- Proper documentation and record keeping using Medication Assistant Record (MAR)
- Will apply topical medications, assist with drops, nasal sprays and patches
- Follows High Cotton Homes, LLC Policy and Procedures
- Maintains awareness of Resident's whereabouts
- Performs personal care duties promptly; maintain Resident's dignity and independence at all times
- Pleasant and respectful to resident's, families, guests and other staff
- Document Resident care rendered per shift on forms provided by High Cotton Homes, LLC
- Answers Call System promptly without delay
- Reports any issues/concerns to Administrator or Owner
- Counts narcotics at beginning of shift with Proxy Caregiver going off duty
- Counts narcotics at end of shift with Proxy Caregiver coming on duty
- Reports for work on time and works entire shift
- Willing to work overtime when needed
- Willing to cover a shift if someone calls in
- Professionally dressed (scrubs-no specific color or print)
- Performs duties not assigned when notices something needs to be done
- Must satisfactorily complete continuing education each year, in courses relevant to job duties, including but not limited to, appropriate education assistance, working with the elderly, working with mentally ill and developmentally disable, social and recreational activities, legal issues, physical maintenance and fire safety, housekeeping, or other topics as needed or as determined by the Department Community Health • Must have 16 hours of in-services/training per year • Will attend 8-hour Proxy Caregiver training and recertification each year
