Georgia Comfort Care is seeking dedicated Companions/Sitters to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide essential non-medical support, companionship, and supervision to seniors or individuals with disabilities, helping them remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. As a valued W-2 employee of Georgia Comfort Care, you will be part of a supportive, structured environment dedicated to exceptional care and regulatory excellence.
Key Responsibilities Companionship & Engagement:
Provide meaningful social interaction, conversation, and emotional support. Engage clients in favorite activities, hobbies, reading, or light exercises.
Supervision & Safety:
Ensure a safe home environment, assist with mobility/transfers to prevent falls, and provide steady supervision.
Light Housekeeping:
Maintain a clean living space by assisting with light chores, including dusting, vacuuming, wiping counters, doing laundry, and organizing.
Meal Preparation:
Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to the client's dietary preferences or restrictions; assist with clean-up.
Errands & Transportation:
Accompanied clients to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, or personal outings (if required by the specific care plan).
Medication Reminders:
Provide timely verbal reminders for clients to take prescribed medications.
Reporting:
Observe and document changes in the client's physical condition, behavior, or cognitive status, communicating promptly with the administrative team.
Job Requirements & Qualifications Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in caregiving, elder care, or companion services is preferred but not required—a compassionate heart, integrity, and strong work ethic are essential!
Compliance & Credentials:
Must successfully pass a comprehensive state criminal background check and fingerprinting (GCHEXS). Valid First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain). Certified Fire Safety credential is a major plus.
Skills:
Excellent communication, active listening, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills. Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
Transportation:
Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and active auto insurance (if transporting clients).
Physical Demands:
Ability to perform light physical tasks, lift up to 25 lbs, and assist clients with gentle mobility support.
