Job Description
Overview Join our compassionate team as an In Home Caregiver, where your dedication and expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals needing support with daily activities and specialized care. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote comfort and dignity. Support patients with mobility and transfers using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to ensure safety for both client and caregiver. Monitor vital signs, observe patient conditions, and report changes promptly to healthcare professionals to ensure ongoing health management. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Provide companionship and emotional support while engaging clients in meaningful activities that promote mental well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces. Support clients during medical appointments or community outings with personal transportation assistance and escort services. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to observe patients carefully, monitor vital signs, and recognize signs of medical emergencies such as dementia-related behaviors or Alzheimer's symptoms. Knowledge of care plans, medication management, first aid, CPR certification. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or intellectual disabilities supports success in this role. Familiarity with hospice care practices, geriatrics, dementia care, memory care, and patient personal care assistance enhances your ability to deliver specialized support. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families while adhering to HIPAA standards ensures respectful confidentiality at all times. Physical capability for heavy lifting and assisting with patient transfers using appropriate methods ensures safety during caregiving activities.
