Support residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques and engagement activities. Facilitate transportation for appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely, monitor vital signs, and recognize signs of distress or health deterioration. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, autism support, developmental disabilities support, and neurodevelopmental disorders is desirable. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance or medication administration are advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely using appropriate techniques like patient transfer methods (e.g., Hoyer lift). Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams. Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or geriatrics is beneficial.
