GED CNA Full Job Description Position Summary:
The PRN Hospice Aide provides personal care services to hospice patients in accordance with the care plan, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This role helps ensure patient comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with personal care needs including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility. Provide support with activities of daily living (ADLs). Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families. Measure and record vital signs as directed by the nurse. Observe and report changes in the patient's condition to the RN. Assist with simple meal preparation and feeding as needed. Maintain patient safety, comfort, and dignity at all times. Document care provided in accordance with agency policies. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification [state-specific requirement]. Current CPR certification (preferred). Prior hospice or home health experience strongly preferred. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license. Compassionate, dependable, and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, move, and reposition patients as needed. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
