Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient In-Home Senior Caregiver to provide non-medical assistance and companionship to elderly clients in their homes. The caregiver will support clients with daily living activities, personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and transportation while promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Personal Care Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene. Help with toileting and incontinence care as needed. Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation. Companionship Provide emotional support and companionship. Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, games, and activities. Accompany clients on walks, appointments, and social outings. Daily Living Assistance Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when necessary. Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, dishes, and tidying living areas. Assist with grocery shopping and errands. Health and Safety Support Provide medication reminders according to care plans. Monitor and report changes in physical, emotional, or behavioral conditions. Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients. Follow all care plans, agency policies, and safety procedures. Transportation Transport clients to medical appointments, errands, and community activities when required. Ensure safe entry and exit from vehicles. Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous caregiving, home care, healthcare, or senior care experience preferred. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred but not required. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. MUST pass background check and drug screening. Skills and Competencies Compassionate and patient demeanor. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependability and professionalism. Ability to maintain client confidentiality. Physical ability to assist with lifting, transferring, and mobility support. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift. Ability to assist clients with transfers and mobility. Ability to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays if needed. Work Environment Private residences of senior clients. May involve exposure to household pets and various home environments. Flexible scheduling, including part-time, evenings, and weekends.
