Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistant Caregiver to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence in a respectful and caring manner. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients, supporting their health, well-being, and overall quality of life within home and community settings. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and observe patients for any changes in condition or behavior, documenting observations accurately Administer medications and manage care plans in accordance with healthcare protocols Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and sanitation tasks Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information Assist with vital signs monitoring, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates Support clients with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or developmental disabilities Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively Ensure compliance with all safety standards during patient care activities Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care preferred; group home experience is a plus Knowledge of patient care techniques including first aid, CPR, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism or dementia Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts safely Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety assessment Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams Valid certifications in CPR and first aid required; additional certifications in nursing or social work are advantageous Ability to maintain confidentiality following HIPAA regulations Compassionate attitude with patience for working with seniors or individuals with complex care needs Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; experience in home & community care highly desirable This position provides an opportunity for caregivers committed to delivering compassionate support while developing their skills within a supportive environment dedicated to client-centered care.
