Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Lead Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in their place of residence. The Lead Caregiver serves as a mentor and role model to our caregiving team while ensuring the highest standard of client care. This position bridges communication between caregivers, office staff, and families — ensuring each client receives the attention, safety, and kindness they deserve. This role involves working closely with individuals who may have developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health challenges. Duties Assist in scheduling and responding to emergency coverage needs. Train, coach, and mentor new caregivers to uphold Neighborly Hands' standards of care. Perform periodic in-home visits to observe and support caregivers on assignments. Provide personal care services while maintaining the dignity and respect of each client. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in AxisCare or designated systems. Support clients with light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and errands as needed. Represent Neighborly Hands professionally in all interactions with clients and families. Uphold confidentiality, safety, and infection control policies at all times Implement care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Skills Minimum 2 years of professional caregiving experience (CNA or DSP preferred). First aid and CPR certification preferred. Experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital sign monitoring. Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license. Comfortable assisting seniors with personal care and daily living activities.
