The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. We provide high-quality care to all individuals, regardless of their financial circumstances. We are deeply committed to our clients and are dedicated to implementing a comprehensive model of care. The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Youth Attendant/Respite Care Worker to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. This position will provide attendant care and/or respite care services to youth being served through the Center's CBS program. Evenings Required (1+ days per week after 5 p); weekends Required.Pay and Benefits:

Respite:
Supervise youth attending Respite services Engage youth in structured activities to create a safe and productive environment. Abide by KDHE and TGC disciplinary policies and procedures when redirecting youth.Attendant Care:
1. Provide attendant care services which assist with promoting successful completion of daily activities 2. Encourage and support clients' engagement in pro-social activities 3. Encourage and support clients' efforts to effectively problem-solve and interact successfully with others 4. Work respectfully and supportively with clients' parents/caregivers, while observing appropriate boundaries 5. Transport clients to and from activities or appointments when necessary. Serve as Transportation Attendant on transportation routes when required.Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or GED required. Must be 21 years of age or older and have six months experience working with youth. Experience gained through practicum experience or volunteer work can be included.Preferred:
One year of college course work or one year experience in the field of human services or a combination of each; experience working with youth with mental health issues.
