Job Description

Job Summary The Residential Staff plays a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities within a group home setting. This position involves assisting residents in their daily activities, ensuring their well-being, and promoting their independence while respecting their rights. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate nature and the ability to work effectively with individuals who may have varying levels of needs. Duties Seek community inclusion opportunities for each person served such as dining out, bowling, shopping, museums, zoo trips, etc. Provides training in all areas of daily living and household responsibilities including communication skills, personal/social adjustment, recreation/socialization, transportation, financial budgeting, utilize community services, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, household duties, and mediation management. Assist as needed with personal care such as toileting, showering, dressing, feeding, cleaning up accidents, etc. Assist with adaptive devices such as leg braces, walkers, etc. Provide a safe constructive environment that promotes learning, personal growth, and greater independence in a living environment. Drive residents to appointments or community activities as required. Complete all in-services, and trainings as scheduled. Must be able to complete the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations: a. Lifing up to 50 pounds b. Bending, pulling, pushing, and stooping. c. Walking and/or standing for extended periods of time.
