Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Service Worker in the Opelousas area to provide essential support and assistance to individuals with various physical and mental challenges. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to empowering clients, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and mobility. Support clients in participating in community activities, appointments, and recreational programs. Monitor clients' health status and report any concerns or changes to supervisory staff promptly. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences. Maintain accurate documentation of services provided, client progress, and incidents as required by agency policies. Promote a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and ensuring proper use of assistive devices. Foster positive relationships with clients, families, and team members to support holistic care delivery. Transporting clients to community outings and appointments. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or certification in caregiving or human services is preferred. Prior experience working with individuals with physical or mental health challenges is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically. Ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions accurately. Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a respectful attitude towards clients' dignity and privacy. Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR certifications are desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided. Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment. Reliable transportation, a current driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and registration.
