Job Description

Direct Care Staff Turning Point Youth Services is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Care Staff to provide supervision, support, and guidance to youth residing in our residential program. Direct Care Staff play a critical role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment while helping residents develop the skills necessary for independence and success. Responsibilities Supervise youth in a residential setting and ensure their safety and well-being Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry Provide positive behavioral support and implement individualized service plans Monitor and document resident behaviors, activities, and progress Complete daily logs, incident reports, and other required documentation accurately and timely Transport residents to school, appointments, recreational activities, and community outings Maintain a clean, organized, and safe living environment Conduct room checks, head counts, and safety inspections as required Assist with medication monitoring and documentation as directed Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development Respond appropriately to crisis situations and follow agency policies and procedures Serve as a positive role model while maintaining professional boundaries Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Experience working with youth, behavioral health, foster care, juvenile justice, or residential services preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Ability to pass criminal background checks and drug screening CPR/First Aid Certification preferred or willingness to obtain Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as needed Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations Strong documentation and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Compassion, patience, and reliability
