Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a patient, kind and open-minded companion for part-time support of a creative, 20-year-old autistic young adult living with chronic illness and pain. This flexible, part-time role offers an enriching opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life by providing companionship, assistance with daily living, and fostering independence. The ideal candidate will be dedicated, patient, creative and eager to create a positive and supportive environment. Responsibilities & Skills Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle. Experience working with individuals with chronic illness/pain and autism is preferred. Must be LGBTQ+ affirming, respectful of trans rights and comfortable supporting neurodivergent individuals. Facilitate participation in community outings, appointments, and recreational activities to promote social integration. Engage with the young adult through meaningful activities that promote socialization, learning, and personal growth. Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks to support independence. Previous home & community care experience demonstrating supportive skills and compassion. Night owls welcome, as some support hours may occur later in the day or evening.
