Job Description Hours Full time 40 hours Every other weekend : Friday 18:00pm Saturday 8am-10pm Sunday 8am-10pm Introduction Palmer Care is a supported living service for adults with mental health and/or learning difficulties. We support our clients to maintain a meaningful life and gain independent skills. Our staff are pro-active and motivational but have an empathic and patient nature. Our team at Palmer Care are given support and leadership from an on-site manager at all times. Purpose of the role As a Senior Support Worker you will be involved with; Supervising all properties conducting spot checks. Arranging sickness cover over the weekend. To monitor and promote each person's health and well being. To liaise with other people involved with the person we support, including GP, Care Manager, family, day opportunities and other agencies. To assist the person we support with their benefits, budgeting and management of personal monies. To report all incidents to the Service Manager's and respond to emergency situations. To complete and monitor all spot checks throughout service to ensure quality and assurance is maintained. To provide support and assistance when required. Qualifications and experience necessary for role; Recent experience within a similar role. Core Duties Within Palmer Care No two days will be the same, you will enjoy variety and assist people in the following ways:- Recognising that every moment has potential.
- Recognising and celebrating what the person can do for themselves. . Working alternate weekends as weekend supervisor.
- Helping people learn the skills they need to live the life they choose.
- Providing guidance to our support workers to ensure the clients are safely managing their medication independently and the appropriate risk assessments are in place.
- Helping the people we support to manage their own money.
- Supporting people with their day-to-day travel arrangements and holidays as required.
- Working in a supportive manner with colleagues, families and external parties building trust by being open and honest.
- Prompting and encouraging people we support to maintain their personal care and teaching them of the importance of maintain this to a high level. We do not provide personal care to our clients. If our clients require this support we work with other agencies to provide this service to our clients.
- Inputting and spot checking daily notes in our "Nourish" software where we store all our client information and maintain timeline based interactions of the support provided to our people within our service. In addition to the above, a Senior Support Worker is expected to:
- Be prepared to work flexibly, this could include working some weekends and bank holidays.
