Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, supportive, caring and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team and provide one-on-one support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The role focuses heavily on engagement, redirection, skill-building and support with daily routines to promote independence, safety and meaningful participation in daily life and the community.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide supportive supervision, redirection, and positive behavioral support Engage the individual in structured activities, hobbies, and community outings Assist with daily living tasks and routines Support the development of independence, social skills, and life skills Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment Implement and follow individualized care and behavioral support plans Complete accurate and timely documentation of services provided Communicate effectively with the care team and supervisors
Requirements:
Prior experience providing DDA personal support or working with individuals with developmental disabilities Strong interpersonal, communication, and engagement skills Ability to remain patient, calm, and supportive during redirection Completion of all required DDA trainings, including: Bloodborne Pathogens, Abuse and Neglect, and
MANDT CMT
license (verifiable through the MBON website) Must be able to drive, hold a valid driver's license with active car insurance and have a clean Maryland driving record Background check and professional references required Flexibility in schedule when needed
Compensation:
Rate $18-$20/hour based on experience How to
