Job Description
We are hiring Direct Care Workers for our respite program under the autism waiver program. We are hiring for the Perryhall and Parkville Area Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to provide essential support to children/young adults with autism, As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed. Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in recreational programs. Monitor and document clients' health status and report any changes to the healthcare team. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being. Skills Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred. Experience in home care or caregiving is highly desirable. Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility challenges. Familiarity with working with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with developmental disabilities. Knowledge of assisted living practices and hospice care is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role. High school diploma/GED At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
