Full-time Description:
Join the KFI team in Millinocket! I am a kind and funny 75-year-old gentleman who has lived in East Millinocket my whole life. I live in my own apartment with my beloved cat Moxie who snuggles with me regularly. I have lived in the same apartment on my own for decades. I know everyone, and everyone knows me. I love being involved in my community and I am very close with my family. I love to tell stories about my life. Sometimes I talk to people who are not there. This is usually okay, but I may become upset by what the voices say. I am extremely hard of hearing and communicate best face-to-face at eye level. I use hand gestures when I speak. I may be hard to understand at first, but with patience, you will get to know how I communicate and better understand me. I have recently had some health complications and need support around the clock. I am looking for a new staff to support me and make sure I am safe overnight. I need support to monitor my blood pressure, oxygen levels, temperature and blood sugar levels as well as supporting me to stay hydrated and manage my pain. I am looking for someone who is patient and kind and wants to help me maintain my independence and stay in my own apartment in my beloved community.
