As a trusted personal care and support staffing agency based in Maine, we match compassionate, reliable professionals with individuals needing support to maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life at home. Job Summary We are seeking dedicated and empathetic Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide critical hands-on care, personal assistance, and companionship to clients within their homes. Your support will directly empower clients, helping them safely navigate daily routines and remain active participants in their communities.
Key Responsibilities Personal Care:
Assist clients with daily activities (ADLs), including transferring, mobility/locomotion, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene. Instrumental Support (IADLs): Help with light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, running essential errands, and preparing nutritious main meals.
Health & Wellness Support:
Assist with basic health maintenance tasks as outlined in the client's individualized care plan.
Companionship:
Build strong, relationship-based connections with clients, offering meaningful social engagement and emotional support.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate, timely daily logs of services provided and report any significant changes in a client's physical condition or behavior to the Program Manager.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Prior experience in home care, residential support, or healthcare staffing is a plus.
Skills:
Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, patience, and a reliable work ethic.
