Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elderly Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care for seniors in our assisted living facilities. This vital role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy, and a proactive approach to caregiving, making a positive difference in the lives of those they serve. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations Administer medications as prescribed and maintain detailed care plans to ensure proper medication management Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, engaging them in social activities and conversations to promote mental well-being Conduct patient observation for signs of dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments; implement specialized memory care techniques Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident rooms and common areas Support hospice or palliative care needs with sensitivity and professionalism while respecting residents' dignity and wishes Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care plans Use proper lifting techniques and assist with heavy lifting tasks safely to prevent injury Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of elder care practices including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice support, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or nursing assistant credentials are advantageous Experience with patient monitoring, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and use of mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts is essential Familiarity with creating and following personalized care plans aligned with healthcare standards Strong observational skills for patient safety and health status changes; ability to respond promptly to emergencies or urgent needs Ability to perform light cleaning duties while maintaining high standards of hygiene and infection control Join us in delivering compassionate elder care that enriches lives!
