Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Support behavioral health and behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and emotional stability Facilitate communication using techniques such as American Sign Language or other preferred methods to ensure effective understanding Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and safety protocols Collect and document data related to client progress, health status, and service delivery to ensure comprehensive records Provide transportation and driving support for appointments, community outings, or errands as needed Collaborate with families, social workers, educators, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and update progress regularly Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other disabilities in home or community settings Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to assist with ADLs and provide caregiving that respects client dignity and independence Familiarity with medication administration procedures and safety protocols Proficiency in data collection, documentation, and reporting for ongoing care assessment Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for transportation responsibilities This role is ideal for compassionate individuals eager to support others through direct care while developing valuable skills in social work, behavioral health, or caregiving fields.
