Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Staff to empower individuals with diverse needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance, promote community engagement, and ensure the safety and well-being of those you support. Responsibilities Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor individuals' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly Administer and set-up medications following care plans and HIPAA privacy standards to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist individuals during mealtimes Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols Document care activities accurately in individual records and update care plans regularly Respond swiftly to emergencies by executing first aid procedures or CPR when necessary (training provided) Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care Skills Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring Familiarity with medication administration, care plans, and HIPAA regulations Ability to perform heavy lifting safely. Excellent caregiving skills with patience and empathy for individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges Competence in basic cooking, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean living space Experience working with individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities of mental health diagnosis. Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining high standards of patient safety and confidentiality Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
