Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Activity Aides to join our team. As an Activity Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by assisting with recreational activities and providing social support. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of older adults in our community.Shift:
Part-Time Eve (2p-6p). All shifts include a weekend and holiday rotation.Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities for residents, taking into consideration their individual needs and preferences
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation and progress
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for residents during activities
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating activity programs
Experience:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of memory care principles and techniques
- Familiarity with aging issues counseling
- Understanding of ADLs and experience assisting with them
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices
- Experience in dementia care or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a nursing home or caregiving setting is a plus
- Background in recreational therapy is beneficial
