Direct Care, Inc. is currently looking for caring and dependable AFL Providers in: Buncombe County Madison County Yancey County Haywood County WNC Direct Care, Inc. is currently seeking compassionate and dependable Alternative Family Living (AFL) Providers AFL Providers open their homes to an individual with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and provide a safe, supportive, and structured living environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals or families who want to make a meaningful difference in someone's life while helping them build independence and participate in their community. Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe, stable, and supportive home environment
  • Assist with daily living skills and personal care as needed
  • Support community activities, appointments, and social opportunities
  • Encourage independence, choice, and personal goals
  • Assist with medication management as required
  • Maintain required documentation
  • Communicate with WNC Direct Care, Inc. administrative and clinical staff
  • Follow the Member's Individual Support Plan and agency requirements
  • Complete required training and ongoing competency requirements Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must successfully complete required background checks
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Safe and appropriate home environment
  • Private bedroom available for the Member
  • Ability to complete required training
  • Dependable, compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting individuals with
IDD Compensation AFL Providers Receive:
  • Difficulty of Care Compensation (TAX FREE)
  • Room and Board Payments
  • Ongoing support and training from WNC Direct Care, Inc.
  • Assistance from experienced administrative and clinical staff Compensation varies depending on the individual Member's support needs, authorized services, and placement arrangement.
