Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced caregiver to join the care team for a wonderful client in the Davidson / Cornelius area. This is a meaningful opportunity to provide consistent, high-quality care and build a real relationship with a sweet-natured gentleman and his devoted family. About the
Role Client:
A kind, gentle older gentleman living with Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB) .
Care setting:
Private home, 24/7 care team (you'll be part of a small, close-knit group of caregivers).
Preferred structure:
11-12 hour shifts (e.g., 9am-7p and 9pm-9am) where availability allows, so caregivers can build strong rapport and continuity.
Flexible daytime option:
The family enjoys some quiet time together in the evening ( ~7:30 PM-9:00 PM, ), so we can also match a caregiver for a 9:00 AM-7:30 PM shift.
Location:
Davidson / Cornelius (Lake Norman / North Charlotte). What We're Looking For (Must-Haves) Verifiable hands-on Lewy Body / Parkinson's-Lewy Body experience — not just general dementia care. Emotional resilience and patience — DLB can bring moments of resistance or unkind words; need's someone who doesn't take it personally and won't walk away when things get hard. Skilled de-escalation and redirection — calmly guiding a client who is resistant to care. A natural companion — someone who meets the client where he is, knows when to talk, and when to simply be present. Reliability — a strong track record of showing up, low call-out history, and a dependable backup plan. Local to Davidson/Cornelius — for dependable, on-time arrival. 12-hour shift availability preferred , especially for the afternoon/evening slot. Nice-to-Haves CNA or Med-Tech certification (a plus — please share any current certifications). Experience with fall-risk management, transfers, and special equipment . Experience with catheter care (will be confirmed during the matching process). Why Work With Hallmark You're matched intentionally — we place caregivers with clients who fit their skills, schedule, and location. Continuity matters here — this family values long-term, consistent caregivers and treats them like part of the family. Independent contractor model — competitive pay set by the client, paid weekly via direct deposit. Small, stable care team — we cap the team size to reduce turnover and help you build genuine rapport.
Requirements:
