New Beginnings Alliance Marion, NC Job Description New Beginnings Alliance is seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide Day Support services to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This role focuses on helping individuals build independence, engage in meaningful activities, and participate in their community in a safe and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Provide direct care and supervision to individuals during day support services Assist individuals with daily living skills (ADLs) such as hygiene, meals, and personal care as needed Support participation in structured activities including recreation, skill-building, and community outings Encourage social interaction and positive behavior Implement individualized goals based on each person's care plan Monitor health and safety, including recognizing and responding to changes in behavior Provide transportation to and from community activities (if required) Complete accurate and timely documentation (progress notes, daily logs) Follow all agency policies, state regulations, and person-centered practices Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Experience working with IDD, mental health, or related field preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass background check and drug screening CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Skills Patient, compassionate, and dependable Ability to manage challenging behaviors in a calm, respectful manner Strong organizational and time management skills Experience with Therap or similar documentation systems (a plus)
