We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Resident Care Aides to join our team at Homeplace of New Bern, where we provide exceptional care and support to our residents. As a Resident Care Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of the individuals within our community. Your duties will involve assisting residents with daily living activities, offering emotional support, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with daily tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal assistance.
  • Support residents with mobility and ensure their physical needs are met.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and maintain accurate records of any treatments or care provided.
  • Engage with residents in activities and conversations to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
  • Monitor residents' health and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Ensure a clean and sanitary environment for residents by following facility protocols.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care plans tailored to individual residents.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification as a nursing assistant or similar is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a caregiving or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to exhibit patience, empathy, and compassion when dealing with residents.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
