Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Caregiver to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care to individuals across various care settings. In this vital role, you will support residents and clients by assisting with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being. Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance, including help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), such as meal preparation, medication administration, and light housekeeping tasks like cleaning. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status; report findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, ensuring their safety through attentive supervision and engagement. Facilitate effective communication with Spanish-speaking clients and their families to ensure understanding of care plans and address concerns promptly. Assist with transportation needs for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe patient transfers using appropriate techniques. Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect privacy, and follow established care plans meticulously. Requirements Proven experience working as a caregiver in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is essential for effective communication with clients and families. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, CPR certification, first aid training, and vital signs monitoring. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities; familiarity with dementia or hospice care is highly desirable. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers safely; experience using equipment like Hoyer lifts is preferred. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality. Compassionate attitude with excellent client communication skills; ability to assist with personal transportation and support clients' independence. Prior experience in home & community care or long-term care settings is highly valued; familiarity with care plans and assisted living protocols is a plus.
