General Description:
The Caregiver enables clients to remain in their homes by monitoring and recording their condition while providing support and personal services with respect for dignity and privacy. Responsibilities include offering personal care, hygiene assistance, light housekeeping, and companionship services to our clients.
Essential Functions:
Follow the detailed instructions of the client's approved care plan and directives from nurses, therapists, or other professionals responsible for the client's care. Support clients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and household needs, preparing and serving meals, running errands, and adhering to prescribed dietary requirements. Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Help clients care for themselves by using mobility aids (e.g., cane or walker) and special techniques for personal hygiene. Support family members in caring for clients by providing guidance on safe lifting, turning, and repositioning techniques, as well as advice on nutrition and cleanliness. Accompany clients to medical appointments and other outings, offering transportation, assistance, and companionship. Maintain a safe and healthy client environment by adhering to safety precautions and reporting hazards to the Field Supervisor. Address client complaints while maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Uphold professional standards by following home care policies and procedures.
Education & Training Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. First Aid training preferred. Current CPR certification preferred.
Work Experience Requirements:
Experience caring for children or adults in home, nursing home, or related settings. Experience in home management and performing household tasks, including meal preparation and grocery shopping. Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively. Ability to provide personal care and safe transfers; must be able to arrange transportation to clients' homes.
