Kendal at Hanover is a nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community, and home to 400+ residents. We have a great full-time opportunity for compassionate individuals who love to provide personalized comfort and support in an assisted living setting. The Neighborhood Assistant provides residents living in the assisted living facility with quality care by supporting the nursing team in daily tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Communicating with residents about meal selection, assisting with menu completion and meal delivery when needed.
  • Supporting nursing staff with the resident dining experience to include tasks such as: transport to and from meals, meal and snack set up, and assisting residents with eating.
  • Supporting residents with grooming needs, specifically brushing/styling hair, oral care, use of electric razor (no straight blades), and make-up.
  • Answering call bell alerts for residents, providing comfort and or support for individual needs.
  • Assisting with assuring resident care items are stocked in rooms.
  • Cross training in different neighborhoods to meet a diverse set of resident needs.
  • Tidying up of resident living spaces (i.e., closets, resident rooms, common areas, dining rooms, hallways etc.)
  • Observing residents' needs and requests and reporting these to nursing staff.
  • Maintaining safety standards to ensure a safe environment for the residents.
  • Assisting in transporting residents using safe techniques to and from meals, programs and during resident outings.
  • Providing 1:1 comfort and companionship utilizing resident preferences and choices.
  • Engaging residents to improve their physical, mental, and social well-being, including encouraging residents to develop leisure activities and provides any materials needed. (i.e., music, reading material, and art supplies).
  • Other duties as assigned with a positive and friendly mindset.
This position requires that you have weekend availability.
Pay:
$21.00 per hour
