TheResident Assistant, or RA, is a caregiverproviding assistance to residents under the supervision of the LPN and/or RN.Resident Assistants provide compassionate care that is respectful of eachresident's needs,values and wishes.Job Specific Competencies Principal Responsibilities:

ResidentAssistantsprovide the following nursing services under the supervision and direction of anLPN orRNacross the continuum of care at SPHP. Assist residents with activities of dailyliving (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming,toileting and mobility in a respectful, compassionate manner. Assist residents in taking medications as needed. Encourage and support resident independence and dignity. Monitorresident safety and well- being, reporting anychange to theLPN.
Education Requirements:
Mustpossess patience,empathy and a genuine desire to help others High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in senior care, health care or assisted living preferred, but notrequired Must be able to: Ability to follow care plan and safety protocols Working knowledge of computers including electronichealth record, checking email, and preforming required in-servicing, along with use of other required applications Have thephysical,visual and auditoryability adequate to performresidentcare Maintain composure and positivity in a high stress environment Promote physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being of each resident Work with residents in a highly personal manner during stages of acute and chronic illnessPay Range:
