HOUR COMMUTE FROM NANUET ROCKLAND COUNTY NY.
Currently seeking a comhab for Weekdays and/or weekends. Hours are flexible. Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, including those with autism. This position involves providing compassionate care and support to help clients achieve their personal goals and maintain their independence. The DSP will work closely with clients to assist them in daily activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Seeking a Direct Support Professional •
EXPERIENCED WITH MALE TEENS
•to assist my 19-year-old, non verbal son in a professional and compassionate manner at home. The ideal candidate will be patient, helpful, empathetic, responsible, dependable, have excellent English communication skills, and have their own reliable transportation. Responsibilities In this role you should be willing to routinely perform a variety of supports to the individual such as but not limited to the following: Aiding with daily living skills when needed and bathing when needed. He uses the toilet appropriately on his own but requires supervision with hand washing and showering. Meal prep is already provided.
MUST BE PATIENT AND UNDERSTANDING MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH A SIX FOOT TALL TEEN
Reporting health status to individuals' proxy regularly Provide direct care and support to individual Implement support plans provided by parent Document daily activities, progress, and any other pertinent information Ensure the safety and well-being of individual at all times Mandatory Skills Experience working with teen and/or adult individuals with disabilities, particularly those with autism Strong caregiving skills with a focus on compassion, patience, and empathy. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, families, and team members. Knowledge of memory care techniques and strategies for supporting cognitive function. Proficiency in developing care plans that address individual needs and goals. Capable of performing household tasks such as cleaning and cooking while promoting client involvement in these activities. Physical ability to climb stairs and move quickly as needed to ensure client's safety

Three weeknights after 4pm (flexible on days/can rotate) Every other Saturday OR Sunday 12pm - 5p Select other weekdays During school breaks (can be discussed)
