Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in various care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and clients through attentive, respectful, and personalized care. This role involves working closely with individuals who require assistance with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional support, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity at all times. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring respectful and personalized care. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration under supervision, adhering to prescribed schedules and safety protocols. Facilitate patient transfer methods using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary plans and assist with meal consumption to promote proper nutrition. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and common spaces. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive environment that promotes well-being. Assist with transportation needs for appointments or outings, ensuring safe and timely client transfers within the community or facility. Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Experience working with individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities is highly valued. Familiarity with care plans, patient monitoring techniques, medication administration, and emergency procedures such as CPR and first aid is essential. Prior exposure to hospice care or geriatrics enhances suitability for this role. Candidates with skills in manual handling, heavy lifting, patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts, and assisting with ADLs will excel in this position. A background in home & community care combined with strong client communication skills ensures success in providing compassionate support tailored to each individual's needs.
