Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and attentive Older Adult Companion to provide personalized support and companionship to seniors and individuals with disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, home health, or assisted living environments, demonstrating a genuine commitment to enhancing clients' well-being through attentive care, engagement, and support with daily activities. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring assistance with their daily routines. Responsibilities Offer companionship and social engagement to promote emotional well-being and reduce feelings of loneliness among clients. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, and mobility support. Monitor clients' health status by observing vital signs, patient monitoring, and reporting any changes or concerns promptly. Support medication administration and help maintain accurate care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with meal preparation, light cleaning, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for clients. Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or social outings to foster independence and community involvement. Hours are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Smithtown location. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care practices. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, developmental disabilities, or intellectual disabilities support is advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Demonstrated caregiving skills with patience, empathy, and respect for diverse needs. Valid driver's license and vehicle. Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
