Job Description

REQUIRED
Hands-on professional or commercial soap-making experience. Applicants must have personally produced soap in a production environment. Please describe the types of soap you have made, the process used, typical batch sizes, and years of hands-on experience. We are a growing natural personal-care company establishing our own small manufacturing facility. We will initially focus on handcrafted soaps and natural personal-care products, with plans to expand into skincare, body care, lotions, serums, oils, balms, washes, deodorants, shampoos, and additional products. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Formulator & Manufacturing Lead to help establish production properly from the ground up and eventually oversee day-to-day manufacturing as we grow. Responsibilities Manufacture soaps and natural personal-care products at commercial scale Develop, improve, test, and scale formulations Establish SOPs, batch records, lot tracking, QC, sanitation, and production procedures Help select equipment and organize an efficient manufacturing workflow Troubleshoot formulation and production issues Ensure consistency and quality between batches Help source and evaluate raw materials when needed Train and eventually supervise production staff Help develop and launch new products Maintain strong GMP and cosmetic manufacturing practices Qualifications 3+ years professional soap, cosmetic, skincare, or personal-care manufacturing experience preferred Strong hands-on soap-making experience Experience scaling formulas into larger commercial batches Knowledge of oils, butters, waxes, botanical extracts, essential oils, clays, and other natural ingredients Formulation/product-development experience Understanding of GMP, SOPs, batch records, lot tracking, sanitation, and quality control Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills Ability to create repeatable processes that other employees can follow Must be able to work on-site Strong Plus Experience with lotions, creams, serums, body washes, shampoos, deodorants, balms or other personal-care products; experience setting up or scaling a manufacturing operation; cosmetic formulation/science education; HSCG certification; herbal/botanical formulation training; or knowledge of FDA cosmetic manufacturing and labeling requirements. Certifications are preferred but not required. Professional hands-on manufacturing and formulation experience is more important. Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
