The ideal candidate will support the resident in daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, comfortable environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring long-term or short-term care within a home or community setting. The position requires living on-site and working closely with clients to deliver comprehensive care tailored to their individual needs. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Medication prompting/reminders Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment Observe and document patient condition, reporting any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members Support residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other memory-related conditions through specialized care techniques Follow prescribed care plans and coordinate with healthcare providers for ongoing patient needs Maintain compliance with all safety standards, including CPR and first aid protocols Skills Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, or long-term care environments Knowledge of Alzheimer's, dementia, hospice, and memory care practices Ability to assist with ADLs and provide direct support for individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities Strong patient observation skills and the ability to monitor vital signs accurately Experience with medication reminders and understanding of HIPAA regulations CPR certification and first aid training required; additional certifications in nursing or home health are advantageous but not required. Compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist residents with mobility using appropriate equipment Familiarity with care planning, social work principles, and working within a resident-centered approach This position is ideal for caring professionals committed to providing respectful, empathetic support that enhances the quality of life for residents. Candidates should demonstrate patience, reliability, and a genuine passion for caregiving.
