We believe that adults with disabilities have the human and civil rights to live, work, engage, socialize, love, learn, and worship in the setting and manner of their choosing with support of family and friends. Our mission is to empower adults with disabilities to thrive in the community. About the Role KAA is seeking an enthusiastic professional to facilitate social outings for adults with disabilities in our evening community programs.
These programs include:
KAA Night Out, providing opportunities for adults with disabilities to plan weekly outings and dinner with a small group of friends; and KAA Out and About, providing 20 to 22 outings/activities per month for small and large groups of adults. This is a part-time 2nd shift hourly position with expected weekly work hours to vary depending on shifts claimed. Key Responsibilities Interact with participants and encourage participants to engage with peers and the community. Ensure service is delivered in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures and practices. Follow the written care plan or ISP (Individual Service Plan). Provide timely and accurate documentation on services delivered. Promote health and safety for participants served. Identify and report incidents, as needed. Observe participants and their environments and report behavior, physical and/or cognitive changes and/or changes in living arrangements to supervisor. Make decisions and solve problems independently. Communicate and collaborate effectively with supervisor and coworkers. Participate in staff meetings and trainings as required. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Valid driver's license with 5 or fewer points. Current auto insurance. Ability to pass background check and drug test. A passion for and commitment to the mission and values of the organization; experience working with adults with disabilities and/or disability service organizations a plus. Experience in group settings is also a plus. Comfortable working in a small team atmosphere
