Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and a deep understanding of caregiving practices. You must pass the BCI/FBI background check & drug screening. Responsibilities Provide personal care services including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance. Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Help with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and cleaning to maintain a safe living space. Monitor clients' health by observing changes in condition and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals. Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safe travel to appointments or activities. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Provide specialized care for clients with conditions such as dementia, developmentally delayed, pediatrics, ensuring safety and comfort. Experience Previous experience in home health or caregiving is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Previous experience working with DODD clients preferred but not required. Knowledge of patient care techniques and home care practices is beneficial. Familiarity with meal preparation and dietary considerations is an asset. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality is essential. A caring attitude towards patients with varying needs, including those requiring dementia care, is crucial for success in this role. Individuals with medication certification(s) are a plus. Hoyer lift experience preferred. Experience using an electronic charting system. Behavioral health expertise is a plus. Pay is based on experience and certification. Paid training is provided.
