Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver for AFH (Adult Family Home) to provide exceptional personal care and support to residents in a warm, home-like environment. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote their well-being, and ensure a safe and comfortable living experience. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help foster a nurturing atmosphere where residents feel valued and cared for. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring long-term care and support. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health status is maintained Support residents with medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or cognitive disabilities, including memory care techniques and behavior management strategies Maintain a clean and safe environment through routine cleaning, sanitation, and proper manual handling practices Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and address needs promptly Follow all safety procedures including first aid, CPR certification requirements, safe patient lifting practices, and emergency response protocols Use hoyer lifts or sit to stands to help with moving Skills Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care settings with a focus on geriatrics or long-term care Strong understanding of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and behavior management techniques Ability to assist with ADLs efficiently while maintaining dignity and respect for residents' independence Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medication administration, first aid procedures, and CPR certification Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments in home or community care environments Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients' families and multidisciplinary teams Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks required in caregiving roles
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
