Active Independence Oregon is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Personal Growth Advocate to provide one-on-one support to an adult client with developmental disabilities. In this role, you will help the client achieve personal goals, develop everyday life skills, and engage safely in their home and community. You'll work directly with the client to guide them through a variety of meaningful activities that encourage personal growth, independence, and connection. This includes supporting daily routines, household tasks, transportation, recreational outings, and community participation. You'll also facilitate fun and engaging activities such as classes, swimming, and other hobbies that are important to the client. As part of our team, you'll receive comprehensive training, ongoing mentorship, and opportunities for personal and professional growth—all while making a meaningful difference in someone's life. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys structured, one-on-one support and creating a positive, engaging environment for their client.RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the client to achieve goals set in their support plan. Teach and support essential life skills, including budgeting, meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks. Provide companionship and foster positive, supportive relationships. Facilitate safe community outings, appointments, and recreational activities. Support social interaction and healthy boundaries with others. Provide cues and guidance for emotional regulation, social interactions, and safe decision-making. Maintain accurate and detailed notes on client progress and the support provided.QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a flexible schedule. A positive, professional attitude and commitment to treating others with dignity and respect. High level of dependability and accountability. Enthusiasm for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their goals. Ability to meet clients' physical, social, and emotional needs. Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and lift up to 30 lbs. Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Reliable transportation. If transporting clients, a valid Oregon driver's license, a clean driving record, and current auto insurance are required.Preferred but not required:
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities. Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field.BENEFITS
