In this vital role, you will provide personalized care, promote safety, and foster a warm, supportive environment that enhances residents' quality of life. Your energy, empathy, and attention to detail will help create a nurturing community where residents feel valued and respected every day. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and dignity. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to support ongoing health assessments. Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to residents with dementia or developmental disabilities to promote calmness and engagement. Support residents during meal preparation, feeding assistance, and hydration to maintain proper nutrition and hydration levels. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties within resident areas and adhering to infection control standards. Document observations, incidents, and care activities thoroughly in compliance with facility policies and state regulations. Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to foster social interaction and emotional well-being. Support resident safety by monitoring for signs of distress or changes in condition and responding promptly to emergencies or behavioral issues. Experience Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or personal care homes is highly desirable. Experience with memory care or dementia-specific caregiving enhances your ability to connect with residents effectively. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring is essential for safe resident care. Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation ensures accurate record keeping of care activities. Background working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges demonstrates versatility in caregiving skills. Long-term care experience provides a strong foundation for managing complex resident needs within a supportive environment. Home & community care experience is beneficial for understanding diverse caregiving settings and approaches.
