Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Care Worker to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals with diverse needs in various care settings. In this vital role, you will promote independence, ensure safety, and enhance the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized care with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your dedication will help create a warm, respectful environment where clients feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to promote comfort and independence. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to ensure health stability. Support individuals with dementia or cognitive disabilities through specialized memory care techniques and behavior management strategies. Administer medication accurately following prescribed instructions while maintaining detailed documentation. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote healthy eating habits. Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling procedures to prevent injury during transfers or repositioning. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Experience Prior experience working in residential care homes is highly preferred. Familiarity with home & community care services or long-term care environments enhances your ability to support diverse client needs. Proven ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments. Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and team members to ensure coordinated care. Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing manual handling tasks safely throughout your shift.
